About the Role
Genesee is seeking an experienced Engineer to support stamping tool design, tool build, debug, and production optimization. You’ll drive process improvements, support capital projects, and create tooling solutions that enhance quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design and oversee stamping dies, tooling, and check fixtures using CAD (SolidWorks, Logopress, AutoCAD).
Ensure designs meet safety, ergonomic, and operational requirements.
Lead tooling fabrication with internal/external shops and ensure timelines are met.
Conduct tooling trials, validations, and troubleshoot issues.
Optimize material usage, cycle times, tonnage, and process flow.
Collaborate with Engineering, Tool & Die, Quality, and Production teams.
Maintain documentation: CAD models, drawings, specs, and guidelines.
Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED and Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
**Minimum 5 years
** in tooling design, development, or manufacturing engineering.
Progressive stamping die background required.
SolidWorks experience (Logopress preferred); some 2D design exposure.
Strong GD&T skills; ability to read and interpret prints.
Hands‑on understanding of tool and die build, debug, and machining processes.
Ability to analyze part failures and determine root cause.
Familiarity with transfer/progressive dies, coil‑fed presses, and in‑die tapping/assembly.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Toolmaker or 5+ years in Tool & Die.
Apprenticeship completion.
APQP/PPAP experience; knowledge of ISO standards.
Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
