We are seeking a dedicated Tooling Development Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing tools and equipment used in manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, accuracy, and safety. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements, developing custom tooling solutions, and ensuring that tools are robust, cost-effective, and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

    • Design and develop tooling and fixtures using CAD Software.
    • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and suppliers on tool design and improvements.
    • Analyze and enhance manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
    • Evaluate tools, equipment, and processes, providing recommendations to operations management.
    • Support manufacturing by troubleshooting issues and driving continuous improvement projects.
    • Assist with the manufacturing of prototype parts using a variety of machines: lathes, drill presses, grinders, saws, and presses (including the setup and programming of machines).

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Must have a degree in a technical field such as mechanical, manufacturing, and/or industrial engineering or related experience

Experience and Training:

  • Two plus years of experience in tooling design and development is required
  • Related work with machining equipment
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation 
  • CAD (Solidworks, AutoCAD, Draftsight) software knowledge 
  • Continuous Improvement 
  • Lean and Six Sigma knowledge preferred 
  • Microsoft Office suite software knowledge preferred
