The
Tooling Supervisor leads and supervises the team responsible for manufacturing forging tools, ensuring the timely availability of high-quality purchased tooling at the most cost-effective price. This role works to support the efficiency of forming and machining operations by maintaining optimal tooling inventory and coordinating the procurement of necessary components.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive manufacturing schedules for forming tools to ensure timely delivery and alignment with departmental production needs and deadlines.
- Supervise and lead a team of toolmakers responsible for manufacturing precision forming tools, overseeing all machining operations necessary to support maintenance, engineering, and production requirements.
- This position leads with the ability to demonstrate. Should be comfortable operating CNC lathes, grinders, CNC vertical machining centers, and similar tool room equipment.
- Schedule and monitor employee performance, conduct regular check-ins and evaluations to ensure productivity targets are met and maintain a high level of workmanship across the team.
- Control tooling costs by actively managing internal manufacturing processes and maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- Coordinate the scheduling of external contractors for routine and emergency maintenance on tool room equipment and machinery.
- Participate in the recruitment process, including interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for roles within the tooling department.
- Identify and assess the need for new equipment and technology (both hardware and intellectual capital), providing detailed justification for investments that will enhance tool room productivity, efficiency, and capability.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges.

- Focus on accuracy in all aspects of tool design, manufacturing, and quality control.
- Skilled in handling precision tools and machinery, with a keen ability to perform intricate tasks that require coordination, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, effective resource allocation, and seamless execution of complex tasks.
- Strong ability to develop and implement production schedules, manage resources, and optimize workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
Technical degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a leader in a production or tool making role
Physical Requirements
- Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
- Frequent bending and stooping required.
- Must be able to push/pull objects up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to work in noisy environments.
