Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) builds, sells, rents, and services trucks, cranes, and other specialized Utility Trucks & Equipment. We supply professional-grade tools primarily for the utility industry, our products are also used in telecom, rail, and infrastructure applications.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Tool Room Mechanic / Small Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain tools and small equipment for internal teams and customers. If you have experience with small engines, outdoor power equipment, or power tool service, we want to talk to you!

Equipment You’ll Work On

• Dielectric tools – fiberglass and insulated tools for electrical work
• Hand & power tools – cutting, drilling, measuring, fastening
• Stringing blocks – for installing and repairing utility lines

Experience with brands like Milwaukee, Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda (generators), Toro, John Deere is highly valued.

Ideal Background

• Rental equipment, construction, or tool shop repair
• Outdoor power equipment repair
• Small engine service (mowers, generators, etc.)
• Powersports/ATV/dirt bike repair

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on repair of tools and equipment
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues; communicate findings to Tool Room Lead
• Complete work orders accurately and on time
• Follow established processes and suggest improvements
• Deliver consistent, high-quality workmanship

Education & Experience

• Prior experience repairing small engines or tools required
• Knowledge of battery, hydraulic, or electrical tools a plus
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable using computers or tablets for work orders
• Related vocational or military training in mechanics (wheeled vehicles, trucks, generators, helicopters, aircraft)
