Job Title: Tool Room Clerk
Dept: Toolroom
Reports to: Toolroom Lead
Basic Function: Tool room clerk must be able to keep tool crib and vending machines organized, conduct periodic cycle counts, create purchase orders, and general knowledge for conventional machining and tool grinding repairs.
Primary Functional Responsibility:
- Receives, stores, and issues tools, materials, and other equipment for production support; issues tools to workers and maintains record of the items issued or returned, manually or with the use of computer.
- Maintains a daily inventory of tools and equipment, manually or with the use of computers and vending machines. Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, creates requisitions for stock and to replenish inventory.
- Must be able to inspect/sharpen/rebuild production tools and measure them with the use of calipers, micrometers, height gages, and optical comparator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing. (bilingual for English and Spanish preferred).
- Computer knowledge and be able to work with Microsoft, JDE-one, Label printing, and P.O. requisitions.
- General experience necessary in the use of conventional machining equipment like grinders, lathes, and mills. Must be able to read precision tools, blueprints, etc. Maintains good housekeeping.
- High school diploma/or GED, or trade school with experience in mechanical maintenance; 1 to 3 year related experience.
- Follow all safety guidelines. Be able to lift 34 to 45 lbs. of weight. Job requirements of standing, bending, crouching, etc.
