The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.  

 

We are looking for a seasonal Tool Room Attendant I to maintain the integrity of the Parts Room inventories for operating supplies and maintenance parts.  Receiving of incoming materials and parts along with reconciliation of discrepancies. Documents all parts room inventory transactions to ensure compliance with acceptable performance standards. Assists in stocking parts, organizing and doing routine inventory counts. This role will be responsible for setting up maintenance work order kits as directed by the Maintenance Planner at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically June – October.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains integrity of parts room inventory and generates reports to track usage and value.
  • Receives, inspects and distributes or places into inventory incoming materials and parts, ensuring that quality and accuracy are met.
  • Assists in compiling data from various sources, and enters applicable information into the computer systems (PeopleSoft/AMMS) to maintain inventory, receipts, and maintains an inventory tracking program.
  • Reviews stock inventories to determine unused items and recommends items for return for credit or disposal.
  • Compares part nomenclature, part numbers, authorized substitutes, with catalogs, manuals, and parts list to verify accuracy of inventory and spare parts lists.

 

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 months to one year experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and write in English, Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, and able to navigate in a Windows based and ERP environment.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October. 

 

Compensation: 

The wage is $19.06, with a 2nd shift differential of $.50 and a 3rd shift differential of $1.00.
