Our client in Eastlake is seeking a skilled
Tool & Die Supervisor (Direct Hire) to lead their tooling operations and support manufacturing excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a small team, oversee tooling projects, and contribute to the production of high-quality components.
Schedule: 1st Shift
Pay:
60,000-80,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all activities related to tool and die requests, maintenance, and innovation.
- Supervise the Tool & Die team, including apprentices, training, documentation, and daily operations.
- Utilize machining skills and knowledge of equipment to create, repair, and maintain tools and dies, including CNC vertical mills, lathes, horizontal boring mills, grinders, Wire EDM, Sinker EDM, and die-making processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to assess data, resolve quality issues, and ensure tooling meets specifications.
- Oversee and participate in rebuilding, maintaining, and reverse-engineering parts on die casting dies.
- Troubleshot tooling issues and ensured dies produced components that meet quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of tooling specifications, maintenance schedules, schematics, and inspection reports.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and health regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Proven experience supervising toolmaking or die shop operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation with precision.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining safety.
- Proficient in math for precise measurements and calculations.
- Comfortable with workplace technology, software, and machinery.
- Physical ability to climb, stand, bend, stoop, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
