Tool & Die Maker

Pay: $30.22/hour

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday-Thursday

Location: Winona, MN

Our client is hiring a Tool & Die Maker to join a skilled, tight-knit team. What You'll Do

• Operate manual lathes and mills to fabricate, modify, and repair tooling, dies, and fixtures
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Perform machine maintenance, rebuilds, and repairs
• Execute work orders across a variety of machining setups
• Collaborate with a veteran team in a fast-paced tool room environment

Requirements

Required:

• Hands-on manual machining experience
• Manual lathe and/or mill operation
• Strong attention to detail and reliable attendance
• Willingness to work any of the three shifts (see schedule below)

Preferred:

• Welding experience
• Machine rebuilding or repair background
• Heat treat experience
• Technical degree or trade certification (helpful, not required)

Shift Schedule

This is a 4-day work week (four 10-hour shifts). There are three shifts:

• 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Base rate
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM | + $4.00/hr differential
• 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM | + $4.00/hr differential

How shift placement works:

• Weeks 1–6: You start on 1st shift for initial onboarding
• Months 2–6: You will train on whichever shift your trainer is available, this may include 2nd or 3rd shift
• After training: You are placed on whichever shift has an opening, per union seniority rules

Important: Shift assignments are governed by the union contract. You will not be able to choose your shift after training, and declining your assigned shift is not an option. As your seniority builds over time, your ability to select preferred shifts increases.

Compensation

• Starting wage: $30.22/hr

• Tuition reimbursement up to $5,000/year after 1 year of service
