Fleet Engineers is currently seeking a Tool & Die Maker.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for building and repairing metal working dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges and machinery.
Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm but hours could vary.
Duties:
- Disassemble and assemble dies, jigs, molds, fixtures to obtain access to worn, dull and broken parts to repair.
- Design, lay out and determine assembly methods and sequence of operation for new die builds. Use AutoCAD to assist in drawing layout when necessary.
- Adjust functional parts of devices to maintain specifications and or dimensions.
- Inspects and examine used parts to determine any changes in dimensional, form and texture requirements or imperfections.
- Layout, mark and scribe reference points for subsequent machining and grinding.
- Set up and operate all tool room equipment, i.e.: lathes, grinders, drill presses & mills.
- Verify dimensions and part alignment per prints.
- Fit up contoured surfaces using hand and power grinders where assemblies go together to form mechanisms.
- Move die sections and materials with the use of overhead hoists, fork trucks and other material handling devices.
- Perform die changeovers while the die is in a press.
- Operate welding (MIG, Tig, Stick) and cutting torch equipment.
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman Tool & Die Maker required.
- Experience with injection molding, including mold design, fabrication, and repair.
- Computer skills, office & CAD.
- Able to safely lift and handle up to 50 pounds
