JOB SUMMARY:
Performs, restores, and guides teammates in repairing, maintaining, and building dedicated and prototype tooling.
ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Maintains and services dies
- Builds and repairs specialty tools and fixtures
- Analyzes tool, die and fixture problems and coordinates corrective action
- Designs and creates part holding solutions
- Collaborates with engineers about print designs and area work
- Coordinates tool maintenance activities (Tool Preventative Maintenance – TPM)
- Documents tool maintenance and compliance records
- Specifies and orders required components and services
- Collaborates with cross functional teams including operations support, production engineering, product development and external tooling vendors on tool, die and fixture solutions and maintains project schedules
- Participates in continuous improvement activities
- Prints and sketches reading
SECONDARY DUTIES:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and 2-5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicable tool room or machining experience desired.
COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of tools, dies and fixtures
- Good communication (written & verbal) and organizational ability
- Manual Machine, CNC & Surface Grinders experience
- Computer software (Office, Agile PLM, etc.) experience
