Opsource has partnered with a Tool & Stamping company who provides stampings for the Automotive, Medical, Electronics, and Military Industries. A Tool and Die Maker designs, builds, maintains, and repairs precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used to cut, shape, and form materials for manufacturing, interpreting blueprints and CAD designs, operating manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM), and performing quality checks to ensure parts meet exact specifications for industries like auto, aerospace, and electronics. Key Responsibilities: Design & Planning: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM files to plan tool construction. Fabrication: Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, EDM) to cut, shape, and finish parts. Assembly & Fitting: Assemble complex tools, jigs, and fixtures, making precise adjustments. Maintenance & Repair: Repair, modify, and maintain existing tools and dies, often requiring welding and polishing. Quality Control: Test finished tools and parts to ensure they meet strict dimensional tolerances and quality standards. Material Handling: Select, cut, and mount materials for processing. Essential Skills & Tools: Machining: Proficiency with lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and EDM machines. CAD/CAM: Skill in using computer-aided design and manufacturing software. Precision Measurement: Expertise with precision measuring tools for dimensional verification. Hand Tools: Competence with files, honing stones, hammers, and other hand tools. Blueprint Reading: Ability to understand complex engineering drawings. Work Environment: Industries: Automotive, aerospace, electronics, machinery, metal fabrication.
