Tool & Die Maker

Full time Temp to hire

Monday thru Friday 7am to 3:30pm

$30hr to $40hr depending on experience

Growing fabrication shop in Glendale specializes in custom, low-cost metal stamping and precision sheet metal fabrication is looking for a Tool & Die Maker to join their team.

Summary: Tool & Die Maker is mainly responsible for design of new tools and repair and maintenance of existing tools. Design and detail tooling, dies, fixtures, and related manufacturing components using CAD/CAM software, primarily AutoCAD, while maintaining compatibility with other customer- and vendor-specified systems.

Responsibilities:

Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions.

Maintain specifications by working with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials.

Keep machine shop clean and organized and running smoothly.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years experience in tool and die design and manufacture.

Experience programming and operating CNC equipment.

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, including AutoCAD, with the ability to create, modify, and interpret tool, die, and production drawings. Experience with additional CAD/CAM platforms is preferred.

Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience with machining steel and tool steel.

Knowledge of tool steels and heat treat.

You should be proficient in:

• Troubleshooting Skills
• CAD Software
• CNC Machine Setup & Changeover
• Tool/Die/Mold Setup Experience

Machines & technologies you'll use:

• CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC)
• CAM Software
