Projects Inc. is looking for an experienced Tool & Die maker. Projects Inc. is a manufacturer of complex small machined components in the Aerospace and Power Generation industries and has been in business for over fifty years. The Tool Setter will report to the Manufacturing manager.

The Tool and Die Maker manufactures a variety of tools, dies, and specialized parts and devices used in machinery and production equipment  They communicate and interact with work leaders, supervisors, operators, engineers, schedulers, and tool vendors.

• Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models to gain a comprehensive understanding of the required parts.
• Operate and maintain machines including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
• File, grind, shim and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
• Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
• Perform quality checks on completed tools and dies to ensure they are function ready. 
• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Modify and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges as required.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment. 
• Use machine tools to manufacture tools, dies, and machine parts and dull tooling out for re-grind.
• Measure finished parts to ensure they meet specifications using precise measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Assemble, disassemble, and test products to ensure functionality and quality.
• Repair damaged or worn-out tools and dies.
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards. 
• Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software to design and modify tools and dies.
• Coordinate with engineers and other production staff to understand specific requirements and to troubleshoot problems.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform regular maintenance on machine tools to ensure optimal performance.
• May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.

Requirements

Physical Limitations:  Work may require bending, lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds (Average is 3 to 00 lbs.), pulling, pushing, sitting, reaching, and standing for up to eight (8) hours per day.
 

Minimum Education Required:  High School Diploma
