Job Overview:
One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a skilled Tool & Die Maker to support the setup, maintenance, repair, and improvement of dies, molds, fixtures, and other production tooling at their facility in Edgewater Terrace, IL
Pay Rate: $32/hr – $37/hr
Shift: 2nd Shift
Responsibilities:
Build, repair, modify, and maintain progressive dies, stamping dies, fixtures, and production tooling.
Troubleshoot tooling issues and make necessary adjustments to improve production quality and efficiency.
Perform die tryouts, inspections, and repairs as required.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and tooling specifications.
Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and height gauges.
Operate conventional and toolroom equipment including mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses.
Perform fitting, grinding, machining, and other toolmaking operations to meet required specifications.
Inspect tooling components for wear, damage, and dimensional accuracy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED or equivalent technical training.
3+ years of experience in tool and die making, preferably within a stamping or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of progressive dies, stamping dies, fixtures, and production tooling.
CNC machining or CNC programming experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or equivalent experience.
Experience with progressive stamping dies and high-volume production tooling.
