| High School diploma or GED equivalent. Vocational schooling in machining and strong mathematical skills are desirable. | ||

Work Experience: |
| • | 5 or more years as a machinist. Experienced at making or repairing tooling. | |
|
| • | Machinist experience should include running manual and CNC controlled machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, etc.) | |
|
| • | Proficient with blueprint reading and interpretation including Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerance (GDT) | |
|
| • | Use inspection and measuring equipment. | |
|
|
|

Principal Area of Responsibility: |
| • | Repair and manufacture of powder metal tooling, fixtures, and adaption for production. | |
|
| • | Support the maintenance department in the repair and manufacturing of components needed for repair of equipment. | |
|
| • | Assist in fabrication of in-house projects. |
|
|
|
|
Specific duties: |
| • | Read and interpret tool drawings then use lathe, grinder, milling and etc. equipment to modify or build tools and fixtures to the drawing specifications. |
|
| • | Evaluate and make Powder Metal tooling repairs as needed, includes polishing, Lapping, Fitting and etc. |
|
| • | Support manufacturing by making / repairing components for equipment. |
|
| • | Able to operate and program tool CNC equipment. |
|
| • | Support Engineering to make prototype samples. |
|
| • | Routine cleaning, care of machines, gages, and other equipment used. Complete preventive maintenance and other verification activities as necessary. |
|
| • | Must be able to work flexible schedule to support off shift. |
|
| • | Schedule and prioritize own work in the tool room machine shop to best support production. |
|
| • | Communicate issues and solutions to the Tool Room Supervisor. |
|
| • | Perform other related tasks as may be required by the Tool Room Supervisor. |
|
| • | Maintain good general housekeeping of the work area. |
|
| • | Keep records of work completed. Provide marked drawings and sketches for Design Engineering drawing updates. |
|
| • | Follow all standard work. |
|
| • | Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement |
|
| • | activities. |
|
| • | Must use good judgment to determine whether or not to seek |
assistance when lifting adaption more than 40 lbs. | |||
