Job Overview:

Builds and maintains dies, fixtures, gauges and production equipment.

Operate all types of tools and machines essential and necessary to the job, including but not limited to vertical mills, horizontal mills, lathes, grinders, saws, drills, pedestal grinders, belt sanders and all hand tools (including drills, impact wrenches, Allen wrenches, regular wrenches, vises, screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, channel locks, chisels, transfer punches, taps, and tape measures)

Ability to program and operate CNC machining equipment

Ability to use all types of gauging and instrumentation devices, including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, depth micrometers, telescoping gauges, hardness testers, and height gauges

Ability to recognize variety of materials, including but not limited to cold roll steel, tool steel, and hot roll steel. Select the proper thickness and gauge of material

Ability to maintain accuracy on parts to within .0005 inches

Ability to read and understand blueprints, as well as recognize errors and verify blueprints. Perform measurement layouts per blueprints

Assemble and repair dies, fixtures, gauges and equipment

Must be able to follow instructions with limited supervision

Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product in a safe manner

Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely and accurate manner according to company policy

Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis; maintain good attendance

Ability to work overtime as needed

Follow company policies and procedures

***Knowledge and Skill:

  • **

Formal Training:

  • Associates degree from a technical machine tool program required
  • 5+ years’ experience in a machining environment
  • 3+ years’ experience related to tool and die fabrication and repair
  • Math skills required including fractions, geometry and trigonometry including the ability to use a calculator to determine values

Production level background (5+ years’ experience)

  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Ability to setup and operate machining equipment
  • Proficient in the building of blanking, punching and forming dies
  • Proficient in the use of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Proficient understanding of major aspects of manufacturing fabrication and assembly
  • Understanding of numerous assembly techniques used in production
  • Trained in the use of crane rigging and forklift operation

Computer Skills:

  • Ability to use MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Gibbscam or proficient in equivalent CAM software package

Must be able to perform each essential function and responsibility satisfactorily in accordance with company productivity and quality requirements.

You should be proficient in:

  • CNC Machine Setup & Changeover
  • Tool/Die/Mold Setup Experience
