Job Overview:

The Tool Crib Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the inventory, distribution, maintenance, and tracking of instruments and equipment within the assembly and test lab areas. The Tool Crib Coordinator ensures that all necessary tools are available, properly maintained, and issued efficiently to support operations. This includes monitoring the nitrogen and helium gas supply, liquid nitrogen supply, and the quantity and state of liquid nitrogen dewars. The coordinator also schedules and coordinates offsite environmental testing for production and qualification testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and consumables
  • Issue and receive tools and equipment to/from employees
  • Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Inspect tools for damage, wear, or required calibration
  • Coordinate repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance of tools
  • Ensure proper storage, organization, and cleanliness of the tool crib area
  • Enforce company policies regarding tool usage, safety, and accountability
  • Schedule and coordinate gas and liquid nitrogen deliveries.
  • Maintain dewar cycle count and arrange dewar deliveries/returns.
  • Request equipment and testing quotes.
  • Coordinate offsite environmental testing (vibration, shock, etc.).
  • Place purchase orders for tool crib equipment, clean room supplies, and offsite testing.
  • Coordinate boom room testing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Skills and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in industrial environment.
  • Familiar with lab instruments, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience entering data into ERP system or other industrial database.
  • Proficient written communication skills 

Desired Skills 

  • Knowledge of tool calibration processes
  • Lean manufacturing or 5S experience
  • Familiarity with FOD control and tool accountability programs 

Physical Requirements

Lifting up to 25lbs regularly and 70lbs occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.
