Tool Crib Attendant
Job Summary:
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for inventory control by compiling and maintaining records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment. The attendant will also be responsible for inspecting, issuing, retrieving, and tracking materials and equipment for the production floor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment.
- Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects or damage.
- Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system.
- Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed.
- Sends dull or damaged tooling out for sharpening or repair.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.

- Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Experience in an industrial environment with ability of comprehend and troubleshoot production machinery.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to use a variety of measuring tools and test equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.
Physical Demands:
- Machine shop working environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.
- Standing and walking required for 90% of work time.
- Continuous pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds continuously and up to 30 pounds frequently.
- Frequent bending, stooping, fine manipulation of hand tools and going up/down steps.
- Ability to climb a ladder and work from an elevated platform.
- Overtime will be required during peak business periods and to meet business needs. The position requires on-call and weekend work when necessary.
Work Environment:
- Works indoors in warehouse settings, which are often cooler or hotter than traditional offices.
- The noise level is often high due to the use of various equipment.
