Responsibilities
- Manage daily tool crib operations, ensuring tools, equipment, supplies, and materials are available to support production and maintenance activities.
- Issue, receive, and track tooling, gauges, cutting tools, hand tools, personal protective equipment, and maintenance supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized inventory management, ERP, or related systems.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to appropriate personnel.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and specifications, and properly store materials.
- Organize and maintain storage areas to ensure materials can be located and retrieved efficiently.
- Inspect tools and equipment for damage, wear, or other issues and coordinate repairs, replacements, or calibration as needed.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, and other teams to address tooling and material requirements.
- Assist with management of critical spare parts and supplies to help minimize equipment downtime.
- Respond to urgent requests from production and maintenance areas while maintaining appropriate inventory controls.
- Maintain accurate records of tool issuance, returns, repairs, calibration, and inventory transactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory organization, availability, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing, maintenance storeroom, tool crib, warehouse, inventory, or similar industrial environment preferred.
- Experience with computerized inventory management systems or ERP software preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately track inventory and maintain detailed records.
- Ability to prioritize requests and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of industrial tools, equipment, supplies, or maintenance materials preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, engineering, purchasing, and other departments.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to learn inventory and business software.
- Ability to safely handle and move materials and supplies.
Other
- This position operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, equipment, industrial processes, materials, chemicals, ergonomic hazards, and powered industrial vehicle traffic.
- The work environment may range from moderate to noisy, and appropriate personal protective equipment may be required depending on the work area and assigned duties.
- The position requires regular standing and walking, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, and using hands to handle tools, materials, and equipment.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Regular movement throughout production and other facility areas may be required.
