**Tool and Die Technician **

Direct Hire (6a-3p and 3p-11p)

The Tool and Die Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and modification of dies, tools, and fixtures used in our manufacturing processes. This role supports production by ensuring tooling equipment is maintained to meet quality and productivity standards, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain progressive, transfer, and line dies used in metal stamping operations

  • Troubleshoot die-related issues and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on dies and tooling to ensure long-term reliability

  • Modify dies and tools to accommodate engineering changes or improve performance

  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators) to ensure part conformity

  • Operate tool room equipment such as grinders, mills, lathes, and EDM machines

  • Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve tooling issues

  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or apprenticeship in Tool & Die or related field preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in tool and die repair, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of stamping die construction and maintenance

  • Skilled in blueprint reading, machining practices, and GD&T

  • Proficiency with machining tools and equipment

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Flexibility to work overtime or off-shifts as needed
