Tool & Die Maker / Die Repair Technician

Tier 1 Automotive Supplier | $35–$41/hr | $10K Relocation | Overtime Available

Position Summary

A leading Tier 1 automotive supplier is hiring experienced Tool & Die Makers / Die Repair Technicians to support high-volume automotive stamping operations. This position focuses on die repair, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting progressive and transfer dies, and supporting press uptime and quality production.

This is a great opportunity for candidates with experience in metal stamping, die maintenance, die tryout, or press support environments.

Must be flexible on shift.

Compensation

• Starting pay: $35-41/hour (rate increase based on tenure)
• Top pay: $43.04/hour
• $10,000 relocation sign-on bonus
• Overtime opportunities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform** **die repair and die maintenance on progressive and transfer dies
• Troubleshoot tooling issues in stamping press environment
• Support press uptime by performing preventative maintenance
• Read blueprints and GD&T drawings
• Use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
• Perform die changeovers and spotting
• Implement engineering changes and tooling improvements
• Repair tooling damage from crashes or setup issues
• Maintain tooling nitrogen systems
• Support die tryout and continuous improvement efforts
• Maintain spare tooling components to reduce downtime
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Maintain feeders, transfer systems, and automation equipment
• Support quality initiatives and root cause corrective actions
• Maintain tooling documentation and PM records
• Follow plant safety and quality procedures
• Support 5S standards

Requirements

• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or 2-year machinist/tooling program
• Minimum 2+ years Tool & Die or die repair experience
• Experience in automotive stamping preferred
• Experience with progressive dies, transfer dies, or line dies strongly preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues independently
• Basic computer skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
