TIG WELDER – PRECISION FABRICATION

Experienced TIG Welder Needed | Custom Fabrication | High-Precision Work

We are looking for an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator who takes pride in producing exceptionally precise, high-quality work. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who enjoys challenging custom fabrication projects, working from detailed blueprints, and building components where accuracy and weld quality truly matter.

You’ll work on custom chambers and components, performing precision TIG welding and manual fabrication while holding tight tolerances of ±.010" and angular tolerances of approximately ±0.5%.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform precision TIG welding and custom fabrication from customer drawings and blueprints.
• Complete manual fabrication operations including port alignment, scribing, cutting/copying, tacking, tuning, and welding.
• Use argon gas and TIG welding procedures to join metal components.
• Position, fit, and clamp components accurately prior to welding.
• Perform fusion welds, fillet welds, and full-penetration butt welds.
• Produce vacuum-tight welds, including welds in difficult-to-access areas.
• Select the proper welding settings and filler rod for various materials.
• Determine the proper sequence of fabrication operations, including datum points and hole-penetration sequence.
• Work closely with machinists throughout the manufacturing process to ensure each project meets its dimensional and quality requirements.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a true craftsman who combines strong TIG welding ability with excellent attention to detail.

Ideal candidates will have:

• 5–7 years of related welding/fabrication experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong experience reading and working from blueprints and technical instructions.
• Ability to maintain extremely tight dimensional and angular tolerances.
• Knowledge of proper weld settings and filler-material selection.
• Experience producing high-quality, full-penetration and vacuum-tight welds.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to operate onsite machinery.
• Ability to take direction and collaborate effectively with machinists and supervisors.

Physical & Shop Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position in an active shop environment. The role involves regular standing and use of the hands and arms, with occasional walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

The position requires handling materials weighing up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally. The work environment may include moving mechanical equipment, fumes or airborne particles, loud noise, and occasional electrical-shock exposure.
