The TIG Welding Fabricator is responsible for fabricating and welding various components for the production department as per drawing specifications, safety procedures, approved weld procedures and quality assurance requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding on stainless steel and aluminum components in accordance with industry specifications and standards.
- Set up and operate welding equipment while following proper safety procedures at all times
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures.
- Apply specifications accurately to ensure proper fit-up and weld quality.
- Conduct inspections of welds to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
- Identify defects and take corrective action to maintain consistent weld quality.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute welding projects efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to meet project timelines and goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Follow all required safety protocols while operating equipment and performing welding tasks
- Perform complex crane lifts as required to support fabrication and assembly activities.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Completion of a Welding Certificate program an asset.
- CWB certification or C-Ticket (or higher) is considered a strong asset.
Specific Skills
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, including TIG and MIG
- Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Familiarity with different types of welding equipment and tools
- Basic understanding of metallurgy and heat treatment processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as required
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials, working in various positions and environments
- Ability to lift 50lbs and possess manual dexterity
