Key Responsibilities
- Perform TIG/GTAW welding on stainless steel components and assemblies with a strong emphasis on weld appearance, quality, and consistency.
- Weld stainless steel machinery, frames, components, piping, and assemblies according to specifications and blueprints.
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, selecting appropriate settings, tungsten, shielding gas, filler material, and welding techniques for the application.
- Perform welding in flat, vertical, overhead, and other required positions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, weld symbols, measurements, and specifications.
- Fit, position, align, and secure stainless steel parts and assemblies prior to welding.
- Use precision measuring and layout tools such as calipers, rulers, squares, straightedges, and other fabrication equipment.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, distortion, shrinking, and other defects.
- Produce clean, consistent, and visually acceptable stainless steel welds while maintaining required quality standards.
- Inspect completed welds and components for defects, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Operate hand and power tools commonly used in welding and fabrication.
