Job Overview:

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a leading automotive organization, is seeking a skilled Testing Operations Supervisor. This role is responsible for overseeing daily vehicle testing operations, coordinating mechanics and test drivers across a multi-shift environment, and ensuring vehicle testing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience within an automotive or testing environment along with strong operational oversight capabilities.

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily operations for mechanics, test drivers, and support personnel within a multi-shift testing environment
  • Assign work orders, vehicle schedules, and driver responsibilities to support testing timelines
  • Monitor vehicle testing activity to ensure compliance with established procedures and schedules
  • Maintain and improve safety protocols across testing and garage operations
  • Conduct shift handoff meetings and document vehicle status updates between supervisor transitions
  • Respond to emergency situations and document incidents using established reporting procedures
  • Track maintenance issues, open tasks, and repair status updates for test vehicles
  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and operational performance
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and performance feedback to workforce personnel within a union environment
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing testing and operational needs

Skills & Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience within automotive, testing, manufacturing, or related operations
  • Experience working within a unionized workforce environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience coordinating vehicle testing, maintenance, or operational schedules
  • Ability to support a multi-shift, 24/7 operational environment including weekends and overtime as needed
  • Experience documenting operational issues, incidents, and maintenance activities
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and operational compliance

Desired

  • Degree in business, engineering, automotive technology, management, or related field
  • Experience within proving grounds or automotive durability testing environments
  • Automotive repair or garage operations knowledge
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with vehicle testing routes, maintenance coordination, or fleet operations
  • Experience analyzing operational data to support decision-making
  • Prior experience leading mechanics, drivers, or technical support personnel
