Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive technology organization, is seeking a skilled Hardware Test Technician. This role is responsible for conducting reliability and manufacturing testing on advanced electrical hardware systems, supporting hardware bring-up activities, and troubleshooting automated test equipment and electronic assemblies. The position will also support calibration, system validation, and testing operations across multiple Bay Area facilities as needed.
Job Duties
- Operate software user interfaces to execute hardware validation and manufacturing test procedures
- Perform hardware bring-up and verify system functionality using laboratory test equipment
- Configure, calibrate, and maintain thermal and vibration chamber setups
- Troubleshoot and document failures related to devices under test (DUTs), harnesses, and test equipment
- Conduct electronic component rework, including soldering and de-soldering of circuit boards
- Support commissioning and validation of new automated test systems
- Review electrical schematics, technical drawings, and component datasheets to support testing activities
- Build and modify first-article hardware assemblies and redline schematics when required
- Assist with test data review, issue tracking, and root cause analysis activities
- Travel occasionally between Palo Alto, Hayward, Union City, and Santa Clara facilities to support testing operations
Skills & Experience
Required
- Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics testing or related field
- 5+ years of experience supporting automated test equipment (ATE) or industrial automation systems
- Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and other laboratory instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical datasheets
- Experience with soldering, circuit board rework, and electronic modifications
- Experience operating power tools and assembling test fixtures or hardware systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
- Ability to lift and move test equipment and instrumentation as needed
- Valid driver’s license with ability to pass MVR check

- Experience supporting reliability or manufacturing testing environments
- Experience with thermal chamber and vibration chamber setup and calibration
- Exposure to automotive electronics, ECUs, infotainment, telematics, or battery systems
- Experience supporting hardware bring-up and system commissioning activities
- Familiarity with data collection and test result documentation processes
- Experience troubleshooting electromechanical test systems and harness assemblies
