Duties
- Conduct comprehensive testing on electronic assemblies using automated test equipment and manual methods to verify functionality and performance.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and ohmmeters to perform detailed measurements and data collection.
- Inspect PCB assemblies for surface mount technology (SMT) components, solder joints, and mechanical integrity following IPC 610 standards for electronic hardware quality.
- Use automated optical inspection (AOI) systems and visual inspection techniques to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and test procedures to troubleshoot issues, perform debugging, and ensure compliance with quality control protocols.
- Record test results accurately, analyze data trends, and prepare detailed reports for quality assurance documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies or recurring defects and collaborating with engineering teams for resolution.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT) assembly processes and quality control standards such as IPC 610.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, schematics, and handheld tools like soldering irons and hand tools.
- Experience with PCB testing procedures, automated test automation systems, and automated optical inspection (AOI).
- Mechanical knowledge related to electronic component assembly, soldering techniques, and the use of mechanical inspection tools.
- Ability to perform detailed analysis of test data, troubleshoot issues through debugging techniques, and interpret schematics effectively.
- Familiarity with quality assurance practices including quality inspection protocols and adherence to manufacturing standards.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong analysis skills necessary for data collection, defect identification, and process optimization.
