Job Overview:

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Test Engineering Lab Technician to join our team at our facility located in Danbury, CT, 06810. As a Test Engineering Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Test Engineering functional group with a variety of moderately complex engineering duties including hands-on tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with a laboratory environment and test equipment
  • Set up test apparatus and conduct operational testing
  • Perform cabinet integration testing and troubleshooting
  • Write test reports to assess the ability of products to perform per specifications
  • Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment needed, nature of technical problem and possible solutions
  • Set up and conduct tests of assembled units and components
  • Record results with numerical and graphical data
  • Analyze test results related to the design and test objectives
  • Provide hands-on feedback to engineers
  • Support of qualification testing including test execution coordination in-house and at external labs
  • Operate Engineering Lab environmental chamber
  • Fabricate engineering and manufacturing test fixtures from drawings and schematics
  • Perform test fixture repairs, modifications and certifications
  • Perform lab 6S activities (cleanup, safety, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience and an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to interpret schematics

  • Mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of general hand tools and machine shop equipment

  • Prior experience soldering

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware to the component level

  • PC skills and experience using MS Word, Excel, and VISIO

  • Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
