The Role
Burke is looking for a Territory Sales Representative located in Central California, supporting Fresno, Tulare and Kern counties. This role will promote and sell playground equipment and related items to industry targets by creating demand and building relationships. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this role will:
- Take full ownership of your assigned CA territory, aggressively pursuing new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing client relationships.
- Achieve or exceed business development goals to provide sufficient opportunities to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Aggressively contact prospects and customers to generate new sales opportunities and proactively manage the sales process.
- Research and qualify leads provided by the company and generate leads from your own prospecting activities such as networking, cold calls, etc.
- Partner closely with internal departments (Design Department to develop creative solutions for customers, Sales Support to develop thorough and accurate quote packages and Operations on delivery commitments).
- Create and deliver presentations to prospective customers and landscape architect firms.
- Manage activity in CRM or other tracking system on a regular basis.
- Attend trade shows, lunch & learns, and conferences to increase Burke’s brand awareness and represent the company.
- Constantly enhance knowledge of Burke’s products and services as well as tracking competitive offerings and market trends.
- Travel as needed to properly cover the assigned territory, achieve sales goals, and participate in company events
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently as this is a remote based position.
- Direct sales experience and a proven track record of high-performance sales success.
- Proven business development and project management skills.
- Knowledge and experience working on projects using RFP/RFQ steps, timelines, communications, and overall project management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels internally and externally, in one-on-one or group situation
- Demonstrated ability to quickly gain a level of trust and credibility with customers and the internal organization.
- Ability to work well in an autonomous environment - this role requires a self-starter who takes initiative and holds themselves accountable for results.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint) along with the knowledge of websites, search engines, social media. Ability to learn in-house software and/or CRM.
- Experience working in the commercial recreational market, calling on architects, general contractors, program managers, directors, or purchasers is a nice to have, but not required.
