Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on

Temporary Moving Project Coordinator

**

to oversee a team of nine movers supporting a university relocation project in New Orleans. This individual will coordinate daily moving activities, provide direction to the moving crew, and ensure office furniture, desks, and other items are safely disassembled, loaded, transported, and delivered to designated buildings and locations throughout the university campus.

This is a short-term assignment expected to last approximately 3–4 weeks. The ideal candidate will have previous moving experience, along with strong leadership and supervisory skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of nine movers.

• Receive daily instructions outlining which buildings and rooms are scheduled for moving and the designated destinations for furniture and equipment.

• Communicate daily assignments and provide clear direction to the moving crew.

• Oversee the disassembly of desks, office furniture, and other items in preparation for relocation.

• Coordinate the loading and unloading of furniture and materials onto and off the U-Haul truck.

• Safely operate a U-Haul truck to transport items between various buildings throughout the university campus.

• Safety operator a drill

• Ensure furniture and materials are delivered to the correct buildings and rooms according to daily instructions.

• Monitor workflow, maintain productivity, and ensure the project stays on schedule.

• Promote safe work practices and maintain an organized, efficient moving operation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.

- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

Ability to safely operate a U-Haul moving truck.

• Previous moving, relocation, or furniture handling experience preferred.

• Previous supervisory, team leadership, or management experience preferred.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to direct and motivate a team in a hands-on work environment.

• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with moving, including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with furniture and equipment as needed.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
