Mentor, OH location has an immediate opening for M-F 2nd Shift

Quality Technician I is a professional that is responsible for ensuring that RWB products meet the established quality standards and specifications. The Quality Technician I shall perform inspections, tests, and measurements on finished product, materials, or components to ensure that they meet the required quality specifications. They are also responsible for identifying and addressing quality issues, as well as helping to implement corrective actions. The Quality Technician I shall work closely with other members of the quality team to ensure that the quality standards are met throughout the production process. They shall also maintain records of quality control data and prepare reports and records for management. The Quality Technician I, should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Experience in machining and relevant quality inspection experience is a plus for this role. The Quality Technician I is also a team representative and shall contribute to help satisfy achievement of plant KPI’s and the ISO goals of ‘Customer Satisfaction’ and ‘Continual Improvement.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality

· Perform part visual and/or mechanical inspections on components, materials, and in-process or finished product so as to meet RWB standards and specifications.

· Record inspection test results as required

· Approve finished product inspections for shipment 

· Perform inspections using various inspection tools (micrometers, height stands, pin gages, bore gages, calipers, air gage, …) 

· Encourage and enforce cleanliness on the part of the quality team and ensure safe working conditions

· Help to maintain documentation and inspection records for the purpose of auditing in accordance with ISO requirements

· Perform random sample inspections on in-process or shelf stock products

· Engage in quality calibrations and internal audits

· Ensure measuring equipment are functioning properly and signaling for repairs when equipment is discovered to be faulty

· Work with the management and production managers to ensure that only quality products are produced

· Routinely help to check and update quality control policies, procedures, and work instructions

· Work as a team under the leadership of the quality control supervisor

· Help perform inspection analysis and disposition to customers’ complaints and feedbacks

· Routinely remove non-conforming products that are discovered during the production or inspection processes 

· Create reports for submittal to the Quality Manager/Supervisor

· Assist in the development of inspection procedures

· Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality processes or products 

Processes

· Improve productivity and decrease quality issues using lean manufacturing tools including but not limited to: 

o 6S Principles

o Root cause analysis of problems and help identify appropriate solutions by using the 4D/8D model approach

· Help create work instructions from current and new process

Requirements

     

Education: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution

 

Experience:

· Minimum of 3 years of inspection   and/or manufacturing environment experience

· Minimum of 2 years of ISO   experience preferred

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Quality Technician or Inspector is a plus

 

Computer Skills: Ability to use Excel, Word, and Access effectively

 

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to communicate well with all levels of the manufacturing plant and office 

 

Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities)

· Thorough   knowledge and ability to use mechanical inspection tools (micrometers, height stand, bore gage, pin gages, calipers, profilometers, hardness testers, air gage, …) 

· Knowledge of ISO 9001 is a plus

· Operation of other measuring equipment (CMM, Mahr Roundness) is a plus
