Quality Inspector, 2nd shift – Entry level (will train)
Position Summary
In this role, you will conduct a variety of dimensional, visual, electronic, and nondestructive tests on parts and assemblies to ensure unit meets and or functions according to specifications. This person will also collect data for the purposes of focusing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a variety of dimensional, visual, electronic, and nondestructive tests on parts and assemblies to ensure unit meets and or functions according to specifications using (micrometers, calipers, drop indicator, pins, and vision inspection system).
- Understands the Johnstech sales order documentation package including specifications, BOMs, drawings, work orders, data sheets etc.
- Tests parts thoroughly by inspecting and following test procedures.
- Perform final testing for complete contactor assemblies in a clean room environment.
- Compares results with specifications and records test data when appropriate.
- Enter non-conformances when product dimensions or test performance does not meet requirements.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, and others regarding inspection and test results and plays a role in developing corrective action.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED
- Willing and interested in learning new testing techniques and processes including final test equipment and PC-DMIS software programming
- Good basic math skills
- Able to work with mechanical parts and understand how the parts fit together
- Good spatial orientation
- Strong detail ability to identify discrepancies in parts and tolerance.
- Able to perform close tolerance work and to read and comprehend prints/drawings including the use of a microscope
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated, cooperative, responsible and flexible
Pay range for this position is $18-$22 per hour or higher depending on qualifications. This salary information serves as a general guideline.
