This position requires a strong foundation in electrical and/or mechanical engineering principles, hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, or electrical wiring techniques, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions.

Flexible Hiring Tracks: We are actively hiring across multiple skill sets and experience levels. Whether your background is focused on Mechanical Fabrication & Assembly, Electrical Power Systems, or a hybrid combination of both, you will be placed into a Junior or Senior role tailored to your technical strengths.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core & Shared Responsibilities (All Technicians)

  • **Team Collaboration: **Work closely with the Production Manager and engineering team to build systems, improve fabrication/assembly processes, and optimize overall system efficiency.
  • **Troubleshooting & Repair: **Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical or electrical malfunctions and breakdowns, collaborating with engineers to develop effective solutions.
  • **Quality Assurance: **Inspect components and finished products for defects to ensure all Nanogrid units meet stringent quality and performance standards.
  • **Safety & Compliance: **Maintain a clean, organized work environment and strictly adhere to all company and industry safety regulations and procedures.
  • **Senior-Level Leadership: **Senior technicians will lead complex system builds, adjust and optimize machinery/equipment settings, and train/mentor junior co-workers on the safe and efficient use of tools, machinery, welding equipment, and testing instruments.

Track 1: Fabrication, Assembly & Finishing Focus

  • **Mechanical Implementation & Assembly: **Assist with mechanical implementation, trailer fabrication, structural welding, mechanical assembly, and ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • **Precision Metalworking & Woodworking: **Utilize a variety of metalworking tools (welders, grinders, cutting tools, drills, bending and forming equipment) and woodworking equipment (saws, routers, planers) to cut, shape, and assemble high-quality, durable components with exacting precision.
  • **Expert Finishing: **Apply expertise in finishing techniques, such as painting and protective surface treatments, to create durable and aesthetically pleasing final products.
  • **Continuous Improvement: **Contribute practical ideas for improving product design, structural build methods, and finishing techniques.

Track 2: Electrical & Power Systems Focus

  • **3-Phase AC & DC System Integration: **Lead or assist with the wiring and integration of low-voltage DC circuits (12V/24V/48V), high-power 3-phase AC and 120/ 240V Single phase AC electrical systems, including both off-grid and grid-connected style configurations.
  • **Nanogrid Component Assembly: **Assemble and wire core renewable energy components for Sesame Solar's Nanogrid systems, including solar panels, battery storage systems, and hydrogen systems.
  • **Power Conversion Electronics: **Install, wire, and configure power electronics, specifically focused on DC-to-AC inverters and power conversion modules.
  • **Controls, Wiring & Diagnostics: **Install, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, controls, and instrumentation within the Nanogrid units to ensure optimal performance.
  • **HVAC Installation & Maintenance: **Install, troubleshoot, and maintain air conditioning and HVAC systems integrated into specialized electrical enclosures or mobile units.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience Levels

  • **Education: **Technical degree, trade school diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical or mechanical fields.
  • **Junior Technician Level: **1 to 4 years of hands-on experience (or equivalent technical training/apprenticeship) in metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, finishing, or electrical assembly, paired with a strong willingness to learn.
  • **Senior Technician Level: **5 to 10+ years of proven experience in metal fabrication/finishing (such as RV, trailer, or modular manufacturing) and/or industrial electrical assembly (including 3-phase off-grid/grid-connected systems), preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Core Technical & Interpersonal Skills

  • **Technical Principles: **Strong working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical principles.
  • **Drawings & Schematics: **Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
  • **Tool & Equipment Proficiency: **Proficiency in using trade-specific tools and equipment, including welding machines, cutting/shaping tools, power tools, and electrical testing/diagnostic instruments.
  • **Craftsmanship & Problem-Solving: **Excellent troubleshooting skills, keen attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality.
  • **Communication & Teamwork: **Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Requirements
