Job Overview:
Summary:
Engineer and create products within the specials department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Engineer product.
- Set up and operate the table saw, drill press, panel saw, overhead router, stroke sander, edge bander, planer, joiner, wide belt sander, black brothers press, edge sander, band saw, cut-off saw, and rip saw.
- Inspect parts for defects and to ensure product meets specifications.
- Forward parts to assembly.
- Weekly preventative maintenance checks.
- Daily housekeeping of machine and area to keep clean.
- Assist other departments as necessary
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Qualifications:
- Generates creative solutions; uses feedback to modify designs; applies design principles; demonstrates attention to detail
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
- Woodworking and wood machining experience required

- Willingness and flexibility to work at least 2 other departments
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Achieve matrix of 1 to 3 for current department.
- Proficient in 75% of department tasks
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hearing protection and mask or respirators are provided for where required.
Computer Skills:
- Some machines require computer skills.
Expected Hours:
- This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm.
- Overtime is expected when posted in advance.
Physical Requirements:
- The physical demands described here are representative of those who must be met by an associate to successfully preform the essential functions of this job.
- The associate is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
