Job Description

At Teledyne, you'll play a key role in turning customer requirements into competitive and accurate manufacturing quotations. As a Quoting Specialist, you'll work closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to evaluate custom cable and interconnect products, develop cost estimates, and support business growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, analyzing technical information, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop complete quote packages for custom cable, wire, and cable assembly products.

  • Review customer drawings, specifications, RFQs, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine product requirements and costs.

  • Calculate material, labor, overhead, and scrap factors to develop accurate pricing.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to assess product manufacturability and production requirements.

  • Request and evaluate supplier pricing for materials, components, and outsourced services.

  • Research historical pricing, manufacturing data, and cost information to support quote development.

  • Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Operations teams to clarify requirements and ensure quote accuracy.

  • Maintain current labor and material cost models based on market conditions and vendor updates.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance quoting efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to perform cost calculations and pricing analysis.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, electronics, cable and wire assemblies, contract manufacturing, or related technical industries.

  • Experience in estimating, quoting, costing, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, or production planning.

  • Familiarity with cable assemblies, wire harnesses, interconnect products, or electromechanical assemblies.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, labor standards, material costing, and supplier management.
