We are hiring a Technical Project Manager to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team in Glenview, IL.
This is a full-time, onsite position responsible for managing technical equipment projects from initial customer scoping through engineering, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and installation.
You will work closely with Engineering, Design, Assembly, Automation, Quality, Sales, Logistics, Accounting, vendors, and customers to keep complex equipment projects on schedule, within scope, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Manage technical projects from initial scope through final equipment build, testing, delivery, and customer installation
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables
- Lead cross-functional project meetings with Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, Quality, Sales, and Operations
- Communicate directly with customers regarding timelines, scope, deliverables, project changes, and expectations
- Identify project risks and develop contingency plans
- Manage project scope and coordinate change orders when additional work is requested
- Track material orders and vendor delivery status
- Manage project documentation, equipment punch lists, submittals, shipping checklists, action items, and lessons learned
- Support Quality Assurance processes, project changes, and non-conformances
- Coordinate customer visits and project meetings
- Support technical decision-making alongside project engineers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
- 2+ years of Project Management experience
- Experience managing engineering, manufacturing, equipment, automation, or technical projects strongly preferred
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
- Strong customer-facing communication skills
- Experience managing schedules, budgets, milestones, scope, and project risks
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with ERP and project management software
- Business Central and ClickUp experience are a plus
- Bioprocess, fluid handling, filtration, chromatography, pharmaceutical, medical device, or process equipment experience is a plus
- PMP certification or interest in pursuing PMP certification is a plus
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, onsite in Glenview, IL
Compensation:
$75,000–$85,000 base salary
Travel:
Up to 15% domestic and international travel to customer sites
