Summary:
The Technical Professional II- Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) engineer, following completion of the required on site training on the International Space Station (ISS) GN&C system, will provide ISS GN&C Mission Engineering Room (MER) console support.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
- Experience with/understanding of Global Positioning System (GPS), attitude and rate sensors, space vehicle navigation, and with manned space vehicles operations is also highly desirable.
- Minimum background should include basic computer science/programming experience, especially with Matlab.
- Experience with Unix, C, C++, Java, Fortran, or Ada is considered a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
- Current drivers’ license
- Proof of U.S. citizenship
- May require a Secret clearance or an inactive clearance within the last 24 months, enabling access to various Government facilities.
Special knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Curriculum should have included calculus, probability & statistics, numerical methods, vector/matrix/quaternion, linear systems.
- Minimum background should include basic computer science/programming experience, especially with Matlab.
- Experience with Unix, C, C++, Java, Fortran, or Ada is considered a plus.
