This opportunity is in Woodburn, Indiana in Michelin's BF Goodrich Tire Plant (BFG4). Woodburn is a small town located about 30 mins east of Fort Wayne, IN. Fort Wayne is the cultural and economic center of northeastern Indiana, and the second largest city in Indiana. Established in 1961, our Plant builds passenger and light truck tires.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Technical Activity Manager to lead our facility toward optimal operational performance. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing principles to identify and resolve the root causes of mechanical inefficiencies. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate the maintenance team, aligning efforts with the strategic direction of the Maintenance department. Key objectives include enhancing process performance across equipment performance (EP), quality, efficiency, availability, and cost.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Safety and Compliance: Ensure the safety of personnel and environmental protection by adhering to safety regulations and legal requirements. Guarantee that equipment conforms to standards and internal / external regulations.
• People Management: Lead a team of Maintenance Supervisors (2), with indirect oversight of all 20 employees in the Maintenance department, Planner and Spare Parts Technician.
• Maintenance Plan Optimization: Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the long-term maintenance plans.
• Performance Optimization: Supervise and optimize the overall maintenance performance, including equipment availability, cost, reliability, and efficiency.
• Equipment Durability: Implement plans to ensure the durability of equipment through proactive maintenance strategies.
• Maintenance Strategy: Define and apply maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives, actively involving personnel in shared goals. Identify and propose process, method, and organizational improvements.
• Adoption of Maintenance Management Systems: Implement and use maintenance management tools and methodologies within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Proficiency Assurance: Develop and maintain a succession plan and skill diagnosis to ensure the proficiency of maintenance personnel. Regularly update training plans to align with evolving needs.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive organizational, methodological, and technical improvements in maintenance processes. Facilitate knowledge sharing and standard process exchanges within the business network, including participation in RTA network meetings and engagement with external partners.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field is preferred.
• 5+ years maintenance in industrial setting required
• 3-5 years supervisory experience in maintenance required
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental protection standards, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in maintenance planning and optimization techniques.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empower teams towards shared objectives.
• Experience in implementing and using maintenance management systems.
• Strategic problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
