Description

Position Summary:

The Team Leader supports the Group Leader on team improvement activities and provides input and assistance on team needs, problems, and resolutions. We are looking for a dependable, personable individual who has an eye for quality, management experience, and the ability to multi-task.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enable processes and team members to achieve operational objectives including safety, quality, cost, improvement, teamwork, and morale.
  • Achieve results by providing real-time response and support to team members, problem-solving, and implementing kaizen of processes.
  • With minimal supervision, ensure production is operating according to units per specifications prescribed on the Tiara Yachts work instructions.
  • Assign work to the team to ensure completion of daily production requirements.
  • Assist the Group Leader in planning and scheduling the department's work.
  • Monitor the team’s work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Must be able to read and understand units of measure.
  • Communicate current product, process, or material constraints or issues to the team leader.
  • Must be accustomed to physical tasks for long periods of time, including standing, kneeling, lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, using hands, and working with various materials.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge and basic math skills.
  • Able to fill in for absenteeism, rotation, etc.
  • Maintain visual management and kaizen tools (SW, Charts, A3s).
  • Train team members in the zone on standardized work, pull systems, etc., using standardized work as demand changes.
  • Rebalance and standardize work as demand changes.
  • Provide input to the Group Leader for employee performance evaluations.
  • Provide leadership for Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Assist with training team members to develop job knowledge and improve performance when asked.
  • Coach team members in areas of quality, safety, housekeeping, schedule, productivity, and team behavior.
  • Maintain daily labor tracking records and other required production records.
  • Promote an upbeat attitude.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or managemen

Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in the specified field.

  • Pass a background check, drug test, and physical.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested.
  • Promote a safe and clean work environment.
  • Willingness to work on a team or individually.
  • Able to follow manufacturing instructions and understand processes.
  • Must practice PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies as mandated per area (use safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, etc.).
  • Must follow company safety guidelines.
  • Must be fluent in the English language.
