Team Leader, Wire Harness and Cable Assembly
Location: Onsite, day shift, Monday-Friday
About the Role
Our client, an electronic manufacturing services provider specializing in cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and PCB assemblies, is looking for a Team Leader to run a production cell of 4-5 people. This is a hands-on leadership role: about 80% of the work is manual crimping and soldering, and the team lead is expected to both work the floor and own the staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day direction of their team.
What You'll Do
- Manage the Wire Processing Center, including cutting, stripping, terminating, and setting up machine dies and applicators
- Staff and schedule your team day to day, covering shifts, balancing workload, and handling call-offs or gaps
- Oversee job setup and First Article Inspection to ensure quality standards are met from the start
- Instruct team members on proper technique and workmanship standards
- Keep your manager informed on what your team is working on and why, without needing to be asked
- Monitor time standards, quality metrics, and recommend efficiency improvements
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent hands-on industry experience
- Real, demonstrated experience staffing and scheduling a team, not just doing the work yourself
- Ability to read prints, drawings, BOM, and quality documentation
- Experience with tooling setup, maintenance, and calibration
- Preferred: familiarity with IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards
- A positive, coachable attitude and the ability to lead by example on the floor
