SUMMARY

The Team Leader will facilitate answers to questions, use our ERP system, material handle, and complete tasks designated by the shift supervisor.  Team leaders will need to engage their team and make their cell as productive as possible through timely active management. 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain a safe work environment by overseeing employees to make certain MIOSHA, safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • First line of defense to prevent shut-downs and loss of production
  • Execute scheduled production plan.
  • Transport material and goods from receiving, storage, or production areas to various processing, shipping and storage locations.
  • Assist with hiring and training of team members.
  • Actively manage team to make certain production objectives are met.
  • Train employees on the job, as needed, to improve knowledge and skills for various procedures to include, but not limited to, blueprint reading, job order interpretation and general product inspections.
  • Ensure that all ISO quality forms for each procedure regarding production are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Organize storage and processing areas to make most efficient use of space and handling requirements that meet 5S standards.
  • Maintain inventory control of work-in-progress and stored material.
  • Develop and recommend changes to improve the efficiency, quality, and performance of the manufacturing process within the defined cell.
  • Participate in weekly level 10 meeting.
  • Must be able to handle high stress situations.
  • Must be able to interact in person with peers and management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 to 6 months related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma or GED.
  • Have previous knowledge of a manufacturing environment.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet software, inventory software, and VISUAL.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to obtain a fork truck license and meet our safety expectations.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines set forth in the production schedule.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Lift, move, or position materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Walk or stand for length of shift.
  • High energy and self-starting.
