Job Description: Team Lead
2nd Shift
Schedule: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Monday–Friday plus overtime)
List of Activities
- Responsible for meeting safety, production, productivity, quality and Lean/5s goals for assigned area.
- Ensure that your team(s) is comfortably and completely trained in all aspects of their job duties.
- Responsible to be the production expert in your area(s) of responsibility and to fill in where necessary to ensure a smooth running operation.
- Supports and promotes core values including employee handbook.
- Responsible for data drive ideas and implementation of ideas/initiatives to improve productivity and quality to achieve a consistent 85 % + OEE.
- Lead, develop, encourage and hold team members accountable. Be an example in your daily work.
- Training/Coaching employees within your team, (Safety, Equipment operation and troubleshooting, setup, standard work, lean/5s, productivity, quality and production tracking (paperwork).
- Update, as requested, Team board with appropriate information.
- Update and use production tracking tools on shop floor.
- Ensuring the schedule is followed in every work center to ensure daily/shift targets are met.
- Team meetings; sharing new information with your team, keeping the team members up to date with current status related to your area. (production/productivity goals and past due, OEE, opportunities for improvement, plant information and other as requested).
- Collecting all paperwork and verifying it’s accuracy before submitting it to your supervisor.
- Ensure all members in team and existing equipment is within compliance of all safety requirements.
- Auditing of the team and the area in which you are managing.
- Be proactive and advocate for Lean/5s initaitives; Ensure the housekeeping standards are met.
- Participation in product launches and other strategic tasks.
- Participation in meetings as required.
- Actively participate and manage High Performance Work Teams.
- Work closely with management, engineering, maintenance, quality, and logistics/scheduling.
Measurement of Job Performance
- Productivity of area vs standard and OEE
- Scrap rates / Quality Measure (customer complaints etc)
- Safety Incidents / Audits
- Adherence to Schedule
- Quality / Process improvement as measured by productivity, scrap and downtime
- Accuracy / Complete / Turned in paperwork and/or entered data
- 5s / Lean audits of Team

Minimum Job Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Experience
- Minimum 2 years hands on production/manufacturing experience.
Communication
- Ability to communicate well with others, including management.
- Spoken and written English is required.
- Ability to understand and interpret written English including work instructions.
