Tank Mechanic
Job Description
The Tank Mechanic function is to ensure proper workmanship is maintained in all aspects of the job. This can only be accomplished by a thoughtful, organized process administered by a competent person suited to the task with technical skills. In addition to the above, the employee will assist the Large Format coworkers in any way possible as well as the shop supervisor.
Note: Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which includes Drug screen, criminal background check and non-DOT physical.
Responsibilities:
- Lift & Yard Mule Operation (Taylor Forklift 27,000lb capacity, Ottawa Yard mule)
- Perform all ISO Container movement
- Report all equipment deficiencies
- Prep parts according to the work orders
- Install parts onto ISO Tank according to drawings
- Repair tanks according to off-lease estimate
- Perform periodic testing of ISO tank
- Work with third party inspectors
- General maintenance of ISO tanks, chassis, and shop
- Perform daily assigned equipment inspection and use - Use hand/power tools (impact driver, angle grinder, wrenches/ratchets, hammers, etc.)
- Operate Equipment (forklift, pressure washer, air compressor)
- Working at heights (8ft+)
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience with hand/power tools (impact driver, angle grinder, wrenches/ratchets, hammers, etc.).
- Ability to work on brakes, air lines, and lights on chassis.
- Operate Equipment (forklift, pressure washer, air compressor).
- Mechanical experience of 2 years a plus.
- Previous welding experience or willingness to learn a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Strenuous physical effort which requires standing on a concrete floor for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to climb, bend, and stoop to perform various functions of the position.
- Good hand/eye coordination and visual acuity.
Work Environment:
- This position is in an unconditioned warehouse environment.
- Will be working in different weather conditions.
- Will be working with an around hazardous chemical.
- Subject to loud noises.
Working hours are Monday-Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
