Job Summary
KBR Mission Technology Solutions is seeking a motivated and talented System of Systems Engineer to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. Fundamentally, systems engineers solve problems, often by combining traditionally disparate methods into new, creative solutions. The selectee will contribute to the design, development, implementation, integration, testing and delivery of multidisciplinary, cross-platform hardware and software solutions for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).
Roles and Responsibilities
Interoperability engineering: Provide direct support to government program office in charge of linking sensors and weapons to provide Naval Integrated Fire Control capability to the fleet.
Design, test, and deployment assessment: Analyze and assess design concepts, flight and ground test methods, and capability delivery considerations to create optimal solutions, and to identify and resolve issues with software design and tactical operations.
Collaboration: Coordinate interdisciplinary solutions among government and contractor partners.
Learn: Participate in technical conferences and partner technical interchange meetings to bring advanced technologies to NAVAIR.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or in physical sciences from a regionally-accredited college or university.
Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of technical experience across varied fields, including the design and performance of sensors and weapons, tactical data links, and naval command and control.
Security clearance: Active secret security clearance. Selectee must also have the ability to obtain a final DoD Top Secret security clearance within six months of start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or in physical sciences from a regionally-accredited college or university.
Fire Control Experience: Experience within the integration of platforms, sensors, and weapons across Navy kill chains.
Skills: Ability to troubleshoot system-to-system relationships leading to unified solutions.
Security Clearance: Active top secret security clearance.
Work Environment
Location: On-site; no remote work available.
Travel Requirements: Moderate (10% to 25%) travel to government and contractor facilities, test sites, or technical meetings and conferences.
Working Hours: Flexible. Standard government work hour support and surge support during integration and test phases.
Compensation: $143,660.00 - $215,490.00. The salary range posted is for Maryland locations. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability, the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
