Job Overview:

Mace Machine LLC – Exeter, New Hampshire

Mace Machine is seeking an experienced Swiss CNC Programmer/Machinist with strong ESPRIT CAM experience who can take complex precision parts from print to successful production. This is an advanced, hands-on position for someone confident in programming, setup, troubleshooting, and optimization of Swiss-style CNC machines.

We are a growing precision machine shop specializing in small-diameter components for the aerospace, defense, RF/microwave, electronics, and other demanding industries. Our work is high-mix and technically challenging, with a strong emphasis on quality, process ownership, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Create, edit, and optimize Swiss CNC programs using ESPRIT CAM
  • Program, set up, and operate Citizen Swiss-style CNC machines
  • Develop complete machining processes from customer drawings and specifications
  • Select tooling, workholding, cutting strategies, and machining parameters
  • Program live-tooling, milling, cross-working, and back-working operations
  • Produce complex components complete in a single cycle whenever practical
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, dimensional, and production issues
  • Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality and process stability
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Make offsets and process adjustments based on inspection results
  • Document programs, setups, tooling, and proven manufacturing methods
  • Support and mentor less-experienced machinists
  • Participate in process improvement, setup reduction, and manufacturability reviews

What We’re Looking For

  • Advanced experience programming and setting up Swiss-style CNC machines
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ESPRIT CAM
  • Experience with Citizen machines and FANUC or Mitsubishi controls
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss turning, live tooling, milling, cross-working, and back-working
  • Ability to independently interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications
  • Experience selecting tooling and developing efficient machining processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with micrometers, indicators, gage pins, optical inspection equipment, and other precision instruments
  • Thorough understanding of speeds, feeds, tool geometry, material behavior, and process control
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance parts from stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper alloys, and engineering plastics
  • Ability to produce accurate, repeatable work with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Experience in aerospace, defense, or an AS9100 manufacturing environment is beneficial but not required.
