Job Title: CNC Swiss Machine Setup/Operator (Aerospace Manufacturing)
Job Summary
The CNC Swiss Machine Setup/Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Swiss-type CNC lathes to produce high-precision, small-diameter aerospace components. This role requires expertise in tight-tolerance machining, strong attention to detail, and adherence to aerospace quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC Swiss (sliding headstock) machines, including guide bushings, tooling, and bar feeders
Load programs, set tool offsets, and verify setups prior to production
Machine complex, tight-tolerance aerospace components from bar stock
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and process documentation
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment
Make adjustments to offsets, tooling, and machine parameters to maintain part quality
Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, chatter, and dimensional variation
Work with small-diameter parts requiring high precision and surface finish requirements
Document production and inspection results per quality system requirements
Maintain machine cleanliness and organization in compliance with 5S standards
Follow all safety, AS9100, and company procedures
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
3+ years of experience with CNC Swiss machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, or similar)
Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of GD&T
Experience with Fanuc or comparable CNC controls
Knowledge of bar-fed machining and guide bushing setups
Experience machining aerospace materials such as titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an AS9100 or ISO-certified aerospace environment
Ability to edit and optimize G-code programs
Experience with multi-axis Swiss machines and live tooling
Familiarity with automated bar feeders and part catchers
Knowledge of first article inspection (FAI) processes

Aerospace manufacturing environment with exposure to precision machinery, noise, and cutting fluids
Strict adherence to PPE and safety standards required
