Job Overview:

Lusk Quality, a leader in high volume precision turning and machining, is looking for experienced Swiss Machine Lead Operator. Ideal candidates will play a pivotal role in supporting a team of Swiss Machine Operators to successfully perform their work by coaching, mentoring and guiding to make parts and meet customers requirements. This multifaceted position requires a meticulous and detailed individual who can follow work order instructions, have a detailed understanding of blueprint reading and conveying information to the team in order to perform the job with precision and efficiency. Must possess a strong understanding of manufacturing principles. The Swiss Machine Lead Operator will strive to meet all manufacturing, safety and policy requirements in place.

Duties:

- Oversee a team of Operators to ensure adherence to cycle times, quality requirements, meeting customer deadlines

- Troubleshoot challenges and come up with solutions that meets goal in a cost effective and time efficient manner

- Enforce company policies and safety rules

- Foster a harmonious professional team environment that is harmonious and collaborative

- Set up and operate Swiss Machines to produce precision parts

- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations

- Select and install cutting tools, attachments, and accessories on the machines

- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency

- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain product specifications

- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers

- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience operating Swiss machines

- Proficient in the use of hand tools and measuring instruments

- Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks for programming purposes

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision

- Familiarity with materials handling techniques for loading and unloading parts

- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
