This person will travel to customer machine shops and major manufacturers across ALL INDUSTRIES to install, diagnose, repair and maintain Swiss CNC metal cutting machine tools (Tsugami). They need at least five years of hands-on CNC repair experience and must be comfortable troubleshooting both the mechanical and electrical sides of a machine. That includes CNC controls, motors, sensors, wiring, hydraulics, pneumatics, alignments and other precision components.

For the Minneapolis area, we need someone stronger with hands on Swiss maintenance/repair experience.

The ideal person currently works for a machine-tool builder or distributor as a field service technician. We will absolutely consider an in-house CNC maintenance technician who independently repairs complex machines and is willing to transition into a highly mobile, customer-facing position. Swiss CNC or Tsugami experience is a major advantage, but broad CNC repair experience with FANUC or similar controls is highly transferable.

The biggest deal-breakers are:

• Only operating, setting up or programming machines without repairing them (this is not a Machinist or Programmer position; this is the one fixing and repairing)
• Primarily performing building or facilities maintenance
• Inability or unwillingness to travel throughout the workweek
• Weak electrical troubleshooting skills
• Needing significant supervision to diagnose machine problems
• Poor communication with customers
• Background Check: 7 years; NO DUIs
• Drug Screening: Onboarding AND ongoing with government contracts

In one sentence: We need a seasoned CNC “machine doctor” who can travel to customer facilities, determine why a machine is down, fix it safely and independently, and explain the problem clearly to the customer.

As a Swiss CNC Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting customers by maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and ensuring equipment operates at peak performance.
