Job SummaryThe Survey Technician will support civil and infrastructure projects by preparing and revising CAD drawings, construction sketches, technical exhibits, coordination drawings, field layouts, and as-built documentation. The role works closely with survey teams, field engineers, superintendents, and project teams to incorporate verified survey information into accurate construction and design drawings.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and revise CAD drawings, construction sketches, technical exhibits, coordination drawings, and field layouts based on contract drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, field changes, survey information, and engineer instructions.Support preparation and coordination of shop drawings, temporary works drawings, utility drawings, SOE layouts, and as-built drawings.Maintain current project drawing files, including revisions from addenda, RFIs, field changes, approved submittals, and construction updates.Assist with record drawings and as-built documentation, including field redlines, dimensions, elevations, coordinates, equipment locations, utilities, and underground features.Coordinate with the project survey team to incorporate verified horizontal coordinates and vertical elevations into drawings.Assist field engineers and superintendents with clarification drawings required for construction execution.Develop designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson Civil.Perform cut/fill balance grading design using Civil 3D and/or Carlson Civil.Design roadway systems using Corridors within AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Civil.Lead plan preparation from acquisition of survey data through final design.Qualifications1+ years of related CAD experience.Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson Civil, Bentley OpenRoads, or Trimble Business Center.Experience with civil CAD drafting and design.Detail-oriented with a professional attitude.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Self-starter with the ability to work independently.Previous modeling experience with bridges, ODOT roadway, foundations and anchor bolts, SOE, deep excavation, sewer, water treatment, or large civil infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
