Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Planner supports material availability for manufacturing plants and the distribution center by reviewing MRP outputs, coordinating purchase order and replenishment activity for finished goods, components, and WIP inventory, and working with suppliers to support production schedules and customer demand. This role coordinates material movement from suppliers and manufacturing plants to the distribution center and partners with purchasing, warehouse, receiving, and plant teams to investigate discrepancies, resolve supply gaps, maintain ERP planning data, support safety stock recommendations, and prepare routine reporting.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review MRP and ERP planning outputs to identify raw material, component, and finished goods replenishment needs.

  • Coordinate material availability and replenishment activity for raw materials, components, finished goods, and WIP inventory to support production schedules and customer demand.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm delivery timing, follow up on past-due orders, and pull in or push out delivery dates based on demand and material availability needs.

  • Communicate supplier delivery concerns, performance issues, and relevant updates to purchasing/buying teams as needed.

  • Partner with purchasing, warehouse, receiving, and plant teams to investigate inventory discrepancies, delivery issues, and material availability concerns.

  • Support special production requirements by coordinating material needs with plant material management and supplier contacts.

  • Maintain ERP system data related to purchased items, supplier settings, lead times, order quantities, and other planning parameters.

  • Analyze critical parts and recommend appropriate safety stock levels as needed.

  • Research stockouts, shortages, and supply gaps; work with suppliers and internal teams to support timely resolution.

  • Prepare routine reporting on past-due orders, shortages, supplier delivery issues, recovery actions, and supply planning metrics.

  • Support supply planning improvements related to planning accuracy, supplier follow-up, inventory visibility, and material availability.

  • Comply with company policies, work rules, safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or equivalent experience.

  • Basic understanding of supply chain, purchasing, inventory, material planning, or production support.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to review, organize, and summarize data.

  • Strong follow-up, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with suppliers, purchasing, warehouse, receiving, and plant teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1–3 years of experience in supply planning, material planning, purchasing, replenishment, inventory control, or related supply chain role.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or plant material needs.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP or planning systems; Blue Yonder experience preferred.
  • Exposure to raw material/component procurement, production schedule support, supplier follow-up, or inventory discrepancy research.
  • Experience preparing basic reporting on shortages, past-due orders, supplier delivery issues, or recovery actions.
